Called to create in Hollywood

Alex 'Magnus' Lehman Riot GamesExhibit Hall C

Christian creatives often face a pivotal question: What does it mean to integrate faith and craft? In this talk, I’ll highlight three distinct paths—creating explicitly Christian content, crafting Christian-themed analogies, and living out faith while working in secular industries. Having chosen the latter, Alex draws from over 17 years of experience across TV, film, and games—including roles at Sony Imageworks and Riot Games—and will share practical insights, personal stories, and lessons learned navigating these creative crossroads.

WT* should Christian Creators Do With R-rated scenes

Brent Weeks & N.D. WilsonExhibit Hall C

Bad Words, Good Sex, and Terrible Violence: Should verses about purity and avoiding unclean talk—not to mention worries about millstones—lead us to avoid scenes, topics, and language that offend some readers, or do Christians have something to say about "adult" themes to our culture? What are right ways and wrong ways? Where's the line? Does the intended audience matter when anyone of any age might read our book, watch our show, or play our game?

Incensepunk

Andrew Gillsmith, Jon JamesExhibit Hall C

Incensepunk is, at its core, a genre of longing. It desires a world in which traditional faiths and churches play a major role in society. Incensepunk extrapolates Byzantine and Gothic architecture styles into a modern world of skyscrapers and globalization. However, it is not regressive. It doesn’t view the past as good and the present as wicked and depraved. Instead, it tries to envision what the world could look like if faith and society were more integrated.
